Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll were spotted having a relaxed day at the 2024 Paris Olympics last Wednesday, just before Rory swung into his Olympic events on Thursday.

This week marks the second Olympic appearance for McIlroy who's swinging for Team Ireland at Le Golf National in Paris, alongside fellow countryman Shane Lowry. The pair nabbed some downtime before their first round to catch the mens tennis match featuring stars Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal against the duo Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek the evening before.

McIlroy's partner Stoll was there too, their presence drawing attention just a few weeks following McIlroy's announcement that their impending divorce had been halted.

Earlier in May just before the PGA Championship, the public found out about McIlroy's divorce proceedings, seven years after the golfer and Stoll had said 'I do. ' In the legal papers, their union was labelled as 'irretrievably broken', with both of them seeking shared custody of their darling, Poppy.

However, as another major golf event approached - only a month later, McIlroy became the talk of the town once more when he disclosed that their separation was no longer happening, a revelation made shortly before the US Open. There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate, McIlroy stated, citing The Guardian.

"Responding to each rumour is a fool's game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning."

Days after this revelation, McIlroy narrowly missed out on ending his 10-year hiatus from major titles, finishing just one shot behind Bryson DeChambeau at Pinehurst No. 2.

Post his near miss at the US Open, Rory McIlroy made a comeback last month at the Genesis Scottish Open. McIlroy had the unwavering support of his wife Stoll, who was seen observing her hubby during the first round at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

The focus then shifted to The Open Championship at Royal Troon where McIlroy didn't quite hit his stride, bowing out after the 36-hole cut. Post-Troon, the 2014 Open champ enjoyed some downtime in Portugal with Stoll, before the pair travelled to Paris for the Summer Games this month.

Although previously McIlroy hasn't prioritized the Olympic event in men's professional golf, he's taken rather kindly to the notion recently. He stated this week: "I've been asked this question a lot, where would an Olympic medal sit in sort of the hierarchy of my career achievements and it's something I probably won't be able to answer until when everything is said and done."

"I think as golf is in the Olympics for a longer period of time ,it will become more of -- I don't know if anything will be able to sit alongside the majors. We have our four events a year that are the gold standard. But I think this is going to be -- in time, going to be right up there amongst that."
