ABC released the first footage of its upcoming cruise ship drama starring Fringe alum Jackson on Instagram Thursday. In it, Jackson is seen bringing “big deck energy” to the high seas while performing CPR on an unconscious patient. ( Watch video .)

From 9-1-1 creator Ryan Murphy, Doctor Odyssey follows Max (Jackson), the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship “where the staff works hard and plays harder,” says the ABC synopsis. “It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”

Jackson told TVLine in May , that the series is “Ryan Murphy at his outrageous, over-the-top best.” He added that the scripts “are written with a lot of joy, and they’re very funny and they move very fast.”

Don Johnson ( Miami Vice ), Sean Teale ( The Gifted ) and Phillipa Soo ( Shining Girls ) will co-star in the procedural, which will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 26. at 9/8c between 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy .

Joining Murphy as writers are FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans collaborators Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken. Additionally, Paris Barclay, another veteran of Murphy productions such as American Horror Story and The Watcher , will direct the pilot.
