    Keene to Host First Responder Appreciation Community Day on August 18th

    KEENE, NH – On Saturday, August 18th, 2024, Keene will be the backdrop for an action-packed First Responder Appreciation Community Day, thanks to a collaboration between Blue Line Appreciation and Tempesta’s Restaurant. This special event, designed to celebrate and honor the brave service of first responders, will take place at Alumni Field, Keene, NH, with gates opening at 10 AM and events starting at 11 AM, according to Blue Line Appreciations release.

    The day promises a lineup of thrilling activities and entertainment suitable for all ages, including softball games featuring local police and fire department teams battling it out in a friendly rivalry dubbed "Guns vs. Hoses." Children and families can look forward to a touch-a-truck event showcasing vehicles from the police, fire, ambulance services, and NH Fish & Game.

    Highlighting the event will be a variety of demonstrations, including NHSP motorcycle displays and K9 demonstrations showcasing search, apprehend, and comfort dog capabilities. For those feeling adventurous, axe throwing, face painting, and balloon art will also be available, along with a Foam Frenzy event that is sure to delight the younger attendees.

    Local culinary flavors will be catered by Tempesta’s Restaurant, ensuring attendees can enjoy delicious meals throughout the day. The event will also feature a Home Run Derby, a range of local vendors, and live music performances by Steve Pro and the Boom Box Band, and NH Drum & Bagpipe Major Dave Myer.

    The evening will conclude with a special music-themed fireworks show, offering a spectacular end to a day of community fun and appreciation.

    Admission to the event is $5, with children under 12 admitted for free. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Monadnock Region Child Advocacy Center, furthering the community’s commitment to supporting important local causes.
