Simone Biles once again proved she's the greatest gymnast in the world during the 2024 Paris Olympics. While Biles briefly fell to third place during the Women's All-Around Finals after making a huge error on the uneven bars, she bounced back strong on the next rotation like a true veteran champion.

Biles moved back into first place after a phenomenal beam routine. While she took one step forward on her side aerial, her incredible dismount earned a standing ovation at the Bercy Arena. She scored a 14.566.

Biles finished the all-around competition with a brilliant floor routine, sealing herself as the gold medal winner. She needed a 13.867 to pass Brazil's Rebeca Andrade, and earned a 15,066. Biles closed the meet with a 59.131 score, 1.199 points higher than Andrade (57.932), who won silver. Team USA's Suni Lee won bronze with a 56.465.

With this victory, Biles, who's already the most-decorated gymnast in U.S. history, broke several Olympic records.

At age 27, she is the oldest woman in American history to win gold in the all-around competition. She's also the oldest female gymnast in the world to win the all-around in 72 years. Soviet Union's Maria Gorokhovskaya was 30 when she won the all-around in 1952.

Biles, who won the all-around gold during the 2016 Rio Olympics, is the first woman in U.S. history to earn the elite honor twice. Only two other women in the world have won the individual all-around gold medal twice, former Soviet star Larisa Latynina (1956 and 1960 ) and Czechoslovakia's Vera Caslavska (1964 and 1968.) However, she's the first to win all-around gold in non-consecutive Olympics.

With her sixth gold medal, Biles broke Anton Heida's record for the most gold medals won by an American gymnast, man or woman, in U.S. history. Heida won five golds at the 1904 Olympics.

Biles, who already won gold in Paris with Team USA on July 30, can add even more medals to her collection. She qualified to compete in the vault, floor, and beam finals.
