Former President Donald Trump pulled in nearly $140 million in July, his campaign announced Thursday, a major haul coming off of the Republican National Convention and an assassination attempt.

The haul represents a major increase from June, when his campaign and other affiliated groups raised just under $112 million. Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign hasn’t released its July total yet but said it raised $200 million in just the first week of her run.

Trump’s war chest now sits at $327 million, according to the campaign. As of the end of June, President Joe Biden’s nexus of committees had $240 million in cash on hand . Harris now controls at least some of those funds.

In July, public attention darted between Trump and his challengers as pressure mounted on Biden to bow out of the race after his disastrous debate performance; Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt , announced Sen. JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate and formally clinched the Republican presidential nomination ; and Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris, who began her own campaign .

As the race heats up further in the final 96-day sprint to election day, Trump will be leaning on Vance to leverage his Silicon Valley connections in fundraising .
