Hailey Van Lith Sends Clear Message After Team USA’s First Olympic Victory

It has been a brutal start to the Paris Olympics for the Team USA women's and men's 3x3. The women's team came into the games expected to compete for a gold medal, and rightfully so.

However, they lost the first three games, sparking plenty of backlash on what exactly the issue was for the team.

They lost to Germany, Azerbaijan, and then Australia. But things turned a corner on Thursday in Paris. Just hours after losing to Australia, Team USA got the win over Spain, 17-11.

After the game ended, Hailey Van Lith, the former Louisville and LSU star who transferred to TCU, revealed her thoughts on the first win in Paris (h/t ESPN).

"It was a great game for our team," said Hailey Van Lith. "All it takes is one win sometimes to get going. So hopefully that was the igniter to our fire."

Both Rhyne Howard and Van Lith had 5 points each as they led the way for the Americans in a much-needed victory.

After the USA's first game against Germany, Van Lith admitted she was dealing with a cold , which might've altered her play on the court.

But she turned it on for this one and made some impressive shots.

Van Lith and Team USA will face off against France and Canada on Friday, and hopefully, they can use this momentum to continue to string together some victories.
