Fans left confused by Venu Sports streaming subscription price with little NFL offerings and NBA to leave TNT

FANS have been left baffled over the new streaming service Venu Sports, which doesn’t feature nearly enough NFL or NBA programming.
It was announced Thursday that Venu Sports, formed by Fox, Disney , and Warner Bros. Discovery, will be launched this fall.
The streaming service will cost fans $42.99 a month.
The three companies announced the service in February as it will bundle 14 live sports channels with rights to the NFL , MLB , NHL , college sports, and the FIFA World Cup.
Customers would be able to access sports from ESPN, FOX Sports, and TNT.
However, those same fans wouldn’t be able to watch football and basketball games on NBC and its streaming platforms Peacock, Netflix , CBS, and Amazon .
The move comes at an even more bizarre time as the NBA reached an 11-year broadcast deal with NBC and Amazon starting in 2025, meaning WBD’s TNT will not broadcast the sport from that point on.
Fans are not impressed with the Venu Sports price tag given the NFL and NBA offering capacities for fans.
“What a waste of money ,” one wrote.
“Without NBC, this price point is entirely too high,” another commented.
“This is going to flop. Not enough NFL or NBA,” a third added.
Venu Sports will have access to ESPN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV.
That means the service will include the NBA Finals, the World Series, the Stanley Cup Final, the College Football Playoffs, parts of golf ‘s Masters Tournament, and two of the next three Super Bowls .
Venu Sports will also offer on-demand programs from ESPN+.
The new streaming service will offer a seven-day free trial.
Venu Sports will reportedly become ahead of the NFL season on September 5, per CNBC.
Consumers who sign up for the service at $42.99 a month will pay that entry pricing for 12 months, Venu revealed Thursday, which signals the possibility a price increase will occur in the future .
“Targeted at sports fans outside the traditional pay TV bundle, Venu is planning a launch in the U.S. in the fall and will offer thousands of live sports events from all the major professional sports leagues and top college conferences,” the company said in Thursday’s release.
