It’s almost time to trade the hot summer days for cooler fall weather in Mississippi.

Fall is on its way and so are flannel shirts, pumpkin patches, scary movie marathons and football season. But how will a MS Coast fall feel this year?

    Here’s what we know:

As far as rainfall, the Old Farmer’s Almanac predicted above average rainfall for the northern parts of Mississippi and below average totals for middle and southern parts of the state.

The Almanac also predicted hurricane season to have “above-normal activity” until November, so watch out for severe weather in Mississippi as fall approaches.

Here’s what the National Weather Service predicts for fall 2024 National Weather Service

The National Weather Service (NWS) has a long-range forecast for three months (August to October) and during those months, the NWS expects slightly above average temperatures as well as slightly above average precipitation. So, if you’re confident in the NWS predictions, get ready for a warmer, wetter fall, Mississippi.

    What AccuWeather experts say

AccuWeather experts have already predicted a warm fall, much like Farmer’s Almanac and NWS experts.

“Fall is going to feel more like an extended summer for millions of Americans this year,” said AccuWeather lead long-range expert Paul Pastelok.
