Weekend plans? Here is a breakdown on chances of rain

(WJW) — Mild and muggy with temperatures in the 70s to kick off your Friday. Widespread rain moves out but on-and-off rain and thunderstorms will linger.

Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue through 8 a.m. (mainly east.)

An area of low pressure moves through keeping the rain risk around all day, on-and-off through the day. Some storms could dump some well-needed downpours. Locally heavy rain and gusty winds are possible. Mainly after 1 p.m.

If you’re headed out Friday evening, you may want to take an umbrella. Temperatures will stay warm and muggy.

Rain chances continue into Saturday. Patchy clouds in the morning and fog.

Areas could receive upwards of 2″ of much-needed rain through midday Saturday.

Clouds clear out by Sunday.
