Is your grocery bill giving you sticker shock due to prices rising ? Well, hold onto your shopping carts, folks, because some relief might be on the horizon.

Get ready to fill those pantries. GOBankingRates spoke with a shopping expert and crunched the numbers to bring you the scoop on which grocery items could be easier on your wallet by the end of 2025 .

Earning passive income doesn't need to be difficult. You can start this week.

    Plant-Based Meats — the New Budget-Friendly Option?

Move over, tofu. Plant-based meats are gearing up to be the next big thing in affordable protein. Bhavin Swadas, shopping and savings expert at Roar The Deal , predicts a major shakeup in this aisle.

“Probably the single biggest change to come would be in the dramatic fall of prices for plant-based meats,” Swadas said. “A host of companies starting to compete and improving their production process can significantly bring down the cost of making these alternatives.”

So, what does this mean for your wallet? Swadas thinks we’re in for a treat: “At the end of 2025, plant-based meats might be cheap enough to be like regular meats, therefore more accessible to health- and environment-conscious consumers.”

    Dairy Alternatives: Got (Cheaper) Milk?

If you’ve been eyeing those fancy dairy alternatives but balking at the price tag, good news: Swadas predicts that almond milk, oat milk and soy milk could soon be giving cow’s milk a run for its money.

“Produced cheaply due to rising demand and better ways of production, it is believed that by 2025, the prices of such products will be at par with the regular dairy milk,” he said. “That will turn up many more reasons to switch to such plant-based dairy alternatives.”

Fresh Produce: Tech to the Rescue

Remember when eating healthy meant breaking the bank? Those days might soon be behind us. Swadas explained some exciting developments in the produce aisle.

“Advancements in agricultural technology and vertical farming could make fresh produce cheaper,” he said. “With new ways of growing food and improvements to the supply chain, families could see a drop in the price of fruits and veggies by the end of 2025.”

What does this mean for you? “This will be less of an impact on families’ wallets and will make it easier for them to add more fresh produce into their diets,” Swadas said.

    Other Items To Watch

While our expert focused on plant-based options and produce, there are a few other grocery staples that could see price drops:

    • Eggs : After the recent price surge due to avian flu, experts predict a return to more normal pricing as flocks recover.
    • Coffee : Increased production in major coffee-growing regions could lead to lower prices for your morning brew.
    • Cooking oils : As supply chain issues resolve and production increases, expect to see some relief in the oil aisle.
    • Pasta : Global wheat production trends and improvements in manufacturing efficiency could lead to lower pasta prices by 2025.
    • Frozen Vegetables : Advancements in freezing technology and more efficient supply chains may result in cost savings for frozen vegetable producers.

While we can’t predict the future with 100% accuracy (we wish), these trends lead us to believe that your grocery bill might get a bit friendlier by the end of 2025. Of course, prices can (and do) vary by region and other economic factors.

In the meantime, keep using those money-saving grocery hacks: clip coupons (and use coupon apps), shop sales and consider cheaper store brands.
