Hyundai has issued two recalls impacting roughly 67,000 vehicles because of two separate issues. The first recall affects an estimated 12,349 Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs from the 2024 model year. A software problem can cause the vehicle to roll away, even while in park. Until repairs can be made, owners are advised to use the emergency parking brake after parking their vehicles.

Thus far, one death and seven injuries have been reported as a result of these defective airbags, which can rupture and send metal fragments flying. If a recall is issued, it would be the second-largest in U.S. history, as it spans around 49 million vehicles produced between 2000 and 2018.
