While starring in films like Tropic Thunder, Zoolander, and Trolls Band Together, many know Lance Bass as a member of the iconic NSYNC. Besides finding their rhythm, the boy band gained international fame thanks to selling over 70 million albums worldwide. Standing beside Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, Chirs Kickpartrick, and Justin Timberlake, the group won numerous awards and gained a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Although thrilled about the success they created in the music industry, Bass recently discussed his ongoing battle with diabetes and how he received a misdiagnosis with Type 2 Diabetes.

Sharing his health journey with fans, Bass posted a video on his Instagram, giving an update. While struggling with diabetes for several years, the singer explained, “As all of you know, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a few years back. But when I was first diagnosed, I had a difficult time getting my glucose levels under control even though I made adjustments to my diet, medication, and my workout routine. Things just weren’t adding up.”

Continuing to seek advice on his diabetes struggles, Bass added, “But, get ready for the real doozy. Because I recently discovered that I was misdiagnosed, and I actually have Type 1.5, or Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults.” Looking at Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults, it appears that it “isn’t recognized as a separate type of diabetes yet”.

Lance Bass Stays Focused On His Health

Although not recognized, Bass was able to get a glucose monitor, which he considered a “gamechanger.” Able to manage his symptoms better, Bass once revealed how he stays focused on his health by going to the gym. “Exercising is so key right now, but it’s hard for me because of my schedule to get to a gym. So I do have a nice setup at my house and I get 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there. The biggest thing that I’ve learned is to drink tonnes and tonnes of water. You think you’re drinking too much water, (but) you need to drink even more than that.”

Outside of his health struggles, Bass, and the other members of the NSYNC, watched as fans called for the band to reunite for a reunion tour. While not officially announced, the group has joined forces over the last few months for some special performances.
