Lainey Wilson And Miranda Lambert Team Up For New Song, “Good Horses”

The superstar duo we needed. Today, Lainey Wilson released the next song from her forthcoming Whirlwind album called "Good Horses," which features fellow country queen Miranda Lambert . They previously performed the song together when Lainey headlined two nights in Nashville about a month or so ago, and seeing as they're two of the biggest artists in mainstream country at the moment and close friends too, it's obviously a natural pairing. "Good Horses" was written by Lainey, Miranda and Luke Dick, and is centered around the idea and truth that "good horses come home," so no matter they go or what they're doing, their partner doesn't have to worry about it because they're loyal... just need to roam a little sometimes: "If you wanna love me you don't need a rope You just need to know I don't need a compass I don't need a saddle Let go of the reigns baby let me unravel If you wanna love me you don't need a rope You just need to know Good horses come home" Whirlwind is due out everywhere soon on August 23rd, and I think this will be a fan-favorite and quick hit should it ever find its way to country radio (which in my humble opinion, it probably should). I mean, aside from the fact that Lainey and Miranda are friends, these two teaming up just makes sense in terms of their similar backgrounds, styles of country and fan bases, and I hope there's a lot more of this to come in the future. Plus, Miranda has been a mentor of sorts for Lainey, so I"m sure it's a dream come true and full circle moment for her to get to feature Miranda on this record. For me, this is probably the strongest song from Whirlwind thus far, and I already know I'm going to have it on repeat for the foreseeable future.
