Diesel Unveils Tom of Finland Exhibition in Japan

Diesel’s collaboration with Tom of Finland Foundation continues.

Japanese Scientists Shine Light On Treating Forever Chemicals

The LGBTQ+ art organization unveiled “Forty Years of Pride,” a special exhibition supported by Diesel and hosted at the Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Open through Aug. 14, the exhibition examines Tom of Finland place in the contemporary art scene and how the homoerotic artist’s message resonates with diverse groups. It also features the virtual reality work “TOM House: the VR Experience,” a visual and aural journey that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the Finnish artist’s world.

In addition to works on display and for sale at the exhibition, the 2024 Diesel x Tom of Finland Foundation Pride capsule collection is available. Diesel unveiled the third collaboration with the foundation in June.

Diesel Names K Pop Star Hoshi Brand Ambassador

Designed to amplify a message of freedom of expression, sexuality and individualism, the 24-piece capsule features the work of artists including Stuart Sandford, Suzanne Shifflett, Tank, the Hun, Valentine, Henning von Berg and Tom of Finland. Spanning T-shirts, denim jackets, jeans, jockstraps and more, each garment is trimmed with a special canvas tape printed with a quotation from the artist.

The brand was also involved in series of global events, including the annual Tom of Finland Art and Culture Festival held for the first time in Berlin in May.

Diesel Art Gallery opened in 2010 and is part of Diesel’s Shibuya store. Diesel celebrated the reopening of the store in May. One of the brand’s largest stores in Japan, it was updated with Martens’ retail design concept and the addition of Cucina Diesel Farm, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso’s restaurant.
