Iowa HHS updating Behavioral Health District Map

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services will be updating its Behavioral Health Service District Map next year.

According to a release, the new districts, which can be seen below, consider “equitable resource distribution, minimizing service disruption, enhancing access to quality care, and addressing the specific needs of specific populations.”

The new map was created by collaborating with stakeholders. Over 1,000 attendees came out across all sessions, the release states.

This updated map will go into effect beginning July 1, 2025.
