Having not wrestled since September 2023, Dr. Britt Baker returned to AEW at the end of Mercedes Moné’s Forbidden Door match, initiating a feud between the pair. However, it’s now been reported by Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter that she was recently off television again, having been fined and suspended by AEW’s disciplinary committee following a backstage incident involving MJF and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout. Precisely what happened isn’t known, but apparently, Atout heard Baker say something about MJF and he subsequently confronted her.

“Britt Baker was suspended for either one or two weeks and fined by the company’s disciplinary committee. Details have been kept pretty quiet. It came from something backstage at the 7/17 Dynamite where Baker allegedly said something about MJF and Alicia Atout, MJF’s girlfriend heard it and told him and he confronted Baker. This led to an investigation with HR talking to people on 7/24 and I believe the disciplinary committee that did the investigation recommended that.”

While Baker was previously absent from AEW television for an extended time, most assumed she was supporting her partner, Adam Cole, who had suffered a severe ankle injury, in addition to dealing with her own injuries. Yet it would be revealed by Baker herself that she had actually suffered a mini-stroke, which left her hospitalized for a week. Therefore, given this and the fact she is an AEW original, many thought she would soon resume being the face of AEW’s women’s division. Still, given the incident with MJF, it will be interesting to see whether her standing in the company is adversely affected.
