Princes William and Harry have been at odds for several years, but they shocked fans with a temporary truce nearly two years ago . The feuding brothers and their wives put on a united front for the public.

Kate and William were notably joined by the Harry and Meghan to view floral tributes and meet members of the public who had come to pay their respects after Queen Elizabeth's death.

Numerous theories about the unexpected walkabout were floated at the time, but it was later revealed that Prince William had sent a last-minute text to Prince Harry inviting him and Meghan to join him and Kate on the Long Walk in Windsor. This marked the first public reunion of the two couples - formerly known as the 'Fab Four' - since the Sussexes stepped down from their senior Royal roles and moved to the US.

During their 40-minute stroll, the Prince and Princess of Wales, together with Harry and Meghan , were seen warmly greeting crowds , receiving flowers, and accepting gifts such as Paddington Bear stuffed toys. Arriving in sombre black attire, anxieties seemed apparent as the two couples arrived by car, then spent close to an hour engaging with supporters gathered outside the castle's perimeter.

William and Kate had planned to view floral tributes and savor the public's support when William, in a spontaneous gesture, invited Meghan and Harry to join, a detail divulged by a source to the Daily Mail.

A reliable insider informed the publication: "It happened very quickly remarkable really considering they didn't see each other in Scotland."

The Daily Mail explained that it was William's personal choice to extend this symbolic olive branch to Harry for the joint appearance, debunking speculation that it was under the King's orders, contrary to prior belief.

According to Royal insiders, it was indeed the Prince of Wales' own initiative to offer Harry the chance to participate in the promenade with them. Furthermore, dismissals were issued against rumours claiming William only extended the invitation after discovering Harry intended to perform his own walkabout equipped with a filming crew.

It's believed that the Prince of Wales had already suggested the idea of viewing the flowers and greeting well-wishers with Harry before texting his younger brother - a move that was reportedly acknowledged by the Duke of Sussex. William felt that a united front was crucial during a time of national mourning, out of respect for their grandmother.

The walkabout was initially set for 4.30pm but was allegedly delayed by 45 minutes as William and Harry discussed their plans.

Both brothers flew up to Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire to say their final goodbyes to their grandmother, but sadly both missed her as she passed away at 3:10pm. That same day, Prince William joined King Charles for a dinner at his nearby Birkhall residence, while Harry stayed at Balmoral to dine with other family members.
