    Mississippians have 1 week left to apply for storm assistance

    PEARL, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Mississippi renters and homeowners affected by the April 8-11 severe weather and tornadoes have one week left to apply for assistance.

    According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), August 9, 2024, is the last day to apply.

    Heavy rains cause flash flooding at Dollywood; 1 injury reported

    Individual Assistance was approved for Hancock, Hinds, Humphreys, Madison, Neshoba, and Scott counties.

    Survivors can apply by:

    • Calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. If you use video relay service, captioned telephone service, or others, give FEMA your number for that service.
    • Going online to DisasterAssistance.gov
    • Downloading the FEMA mobile app
