Releasing So Happy It Hurts back in 2022, the album marked the 15th studio release from Bryan Adams. During his time in the spotlight, the singer sold over 100 million albums and won numerous awards. Holding a spot in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the songwriter also received a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Spending nearly 50 years in the music industry, Adams did more than release albums as he also helped write songs for iconic bands like KISS. Helping write the hit song “Rock and Roll Hell”, Adams decided to perform the song on top of the Royal Albert Hall.

Back in May, Adams held a residency at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Welcoming the singer to the venue, Adams had a unique idea when it came to his song. Besides taking his performance outside, the songwriter will release a vinyl that features him covering “Rock and Roll Hell” and “War Machine.” Both songs were featured on the KISS album Creatures of the Night, which hit shelves back in 1982.

Sparking a friendship with Jim Vallance, who played for the band Prism, Adams received an invitation to be part of Creatures of the Night. Although having little experience when it came to heavy metal, Vallance and Adams saw the moment as a great opportunity. Working alongside Gene Simmons, the three writers produced the hit songs.

Bryan Adams Admits That “Rock And Roll Hell” Was Jim Vallance’s Song

Releasing the music video on Thursday, fans praised Bryan for his performance. “As a lifelong KISS fan, I’ve wanted to hear Bryan do this song for so many years, it’s one of my favorite songs on the Creatures Of The Night album and Bryan co-wrote War Machine also, which is a top KISS staple. Good job guys with this version.” Another fan urged Bryan to keep performing the classics. “Dear Bryan, this is EXACTLY what all of us, your fans of years want… Please, keep dusting off all those classic songs that we never got to hear in the old days, you have a LOT of lost media and unreleased songs that we want to hear. For example, I would like to listen to clean versions of No One and Over My Head. Please, Bryan!”

Discussing the song and the history behind it, Bryan revealed, “‘Rock and Roll Hell’ was actually Jim’s song. … I suggested that we re-write it with Kiss, as the themes of hell and war were both strangely forefront in my mind at the time. It’s incredible to think those themes are unfortunately playing out for real in the world today – but I’m very grateful to the Kiss guys for giving me the chance back then.”
