Peter Navarro Tells ‘Old White Men’ To ‘Shut Up’ with Misogynist Attacks on Kamala Harris

Peter Navarro lashed out at Republicans focusing on personally attacking Vice President Kamala Harris , telling them to “shut up” and focus on the issues.

Navarro filled in for Steve Bannon on his War Room podcast on Friday as Bannon is currently serving a four-month prison sentence for contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the congressional subcommittee investigating the Jan 6 Capitol riot. Navarro himself was released from federal prison last month after also serving a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress. The former Donald Trump White House trade advisor also refused to comply with a subpoena from the same committee.

Navarro mainly focused on criticizing Harris on Friday and at one point addressed those Republicans choosing to attack Harris’s personal life or personal mannerisms — like the way she laughs.

“Do we get women when we call Kamala a slut or make fun of her cackle, Ted Cruz ?” Navarro asked. “We do not. Shut up. That gets us nowhere!”

Navarro warned Republicans that women voters are especially turned off by “old white men” making these remarks.

“Women, when they hear that crap, are resentful, particularly of old white men pulling that crap. Shut up,” Navarro said.

Cruz and others have long mocked Harris’s laugh. During a Fox Next appearance last month, Cruz said Democrats don’t want Harris turning off voters by “cackling.”

Trump himself has also used this line of attack against his presumptive November opponent.

“I call her laughing Kamala. You ever watched her laugh?” Trump said at a July Michigan rally. “She’s crazy. You know, you can tell a lot by a laugh. No, she’s crazy. She’s nuts.”

In a May interview with Drew Barrymore , Harris shrugged off focus on her laugh from Republican critics and encouraged people to not be “confined by other people’s perception” of them.

“Let me just tell you something: I have my mother’s laugh,” Harris said . “And I grew up around a bunch of women, in particular, who laughed from the belly.”
