Limestone Correctional security guard arrested on contraband charge

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A security guard was arrested at Limestone Correctional Facility on Wednesday, the Alabama Department of Corrections said.

According to ADOC, agents and K-9 officers responded to Limestone Correctional Facility to help the staff arrest Monica Blakeney, a security guard.

She was arrested on Wednesday and is charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband.

ADOC said she has resigned from her position.

Court documents show Blakeney brought methamphetamine into the correctional facility.

Blakeney was booked into the Limestone County Jail but has since been let out on a $5,000 bond, according to court records.
