Sheri Wilson ( @sheri_wilson ) likes to share recipes, DIY hacks , and seasonal cute finds.

In an Instagram Reel , she shared how she created a craft that looks elegant but on an affordable budget.

“You need to try this dollar store DIY,” she said.

Sheri brought viewers into the Dollar Tree and picked up one blue and white bowl and another plate in the same pattern.

She only spent $2.50 on two items but created a work of art that looked more expensive.

The blue and white pattern she chose gave it the appearance of fine china.

    FINE DINING FAKE

Sheri showed that all you need is a bowl, matching plate, and hot glue to secure them.

You can pick any color or pattern to match your kitchen.

The price tag also can’t be beaten considering the end result.

She demonstrated firsthand how to do her DIY method in one step.

“Hot glue the bottom of the bowl and attach it to the middle of the plate,” she explained.

It elevated her kitchen space easily.

At the end of the video, she showed viewers that she put freshly-baked cookies on top.

“I could not believe how cute this turned out,” she gushed.

    VIEWER VOICES

Even though many viewers were fans of it, others wondered why she wouldn’t just go to the thrift store instead for real china.

“Cute idea for thrift store finds too!” one commented.

“Or hear me out, go to the thrift or antique store and buy a beautiful glass cake stand that will last a lifetime,” another said.

Some people understood why she chose to go to the discount store.

“Great idea! For those of you talking about the thrift store…prices have skyrocketed since Covid. The prices are literally ridiculous and way too close to non-used prices,” an Instagram user said.

“It’s adorable! Don’t listen to the negative people,” another added.

“Great idea! I’ve done it with the clear ones now let me go get some like this,” a fan wrote.
