(WGHP) — The FOX8 Weather team is watching out for scattered thunderstorms and tropical activity.

Saturday will be a slightly cooler day. A cold front will move across the state and stall. The stalled front will bring us more clouds and better chances for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 80s. The chance of rain is 70%. Our thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Sunday will be partly cloudy with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 80s. The chance of rain is 50%.

It will be partly cloudy on Monday with highs in the upper 80s. The chance of rain is 30%.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs near 90 degrees. The chance of rain is 25%.

It will be mostly cloudy on Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s. The chance of rain is 30%.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs on Thursday will be in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 40%.

It will be partly cloudy Friday with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 30%.

In the tropics, a tropical storm could form off of the west coast of Florida on Saturday night. If the system forms, the name would be Tropical Storm Debby. Tropical Storm Debby could move along the west coast of Florida and make landfall on Sunday night. The forecast calls for Tropical Storm Debby to move across north Florida and off the east coast of Florida by Monday morning. Tropical Storm Debby will then slowly move along the coast of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. There’s a chance Tropical Storm Debby could be off of the North Carolina coast by Wednesday morning. If the storm holds to the projected path, heavy rain is possible across Florida and the Georgia coast. The coast of North and South Carolina could see heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Some heavy rain along the coast could linger into Thursday.

Stay with FOX8 for tropical weather updates.
