This Popular Children's Retailer Is Opening Up Inside Kohl's

Once a giant in the department store industry, Kohl's is adapting to modern retail challenges with a fresh strategy. While online shopping has changed consumer habits, Kohl’s remains a go-to for many, especially with its diverse selection of big-name and exclusive brands.
To boost sales and attract young families, Kohl’s plans to introduce Babies R Us shops within its stores nationwide, with 200 locations planned by the end of September. These shops will offer a range of baby products, including shampoo, strollers, and car seats, previously unavailable at Kohl’s.
By catering to young families, Kohl’s aims to support parents, whether preparing for a new baby, decorating their homes, or shopping for back-to-school items. The retailer’s focus on convenience is evident, with most of its 1,170 stores located in suburban strip malls, making them easily accessible for busy parents.
Additionally, Kohl’s is expanding its home decor, gifting, and impulse items offerings, which CEO Tom Kingsbury sees as a significant growth opportunity.
Despite a challenging retail environment with declining net sales and a recent net loss, Kohl’s is betting on the premium baby product market to drive spending, supported by its partnership with well-known brands and the launch of a baby registry this fall.

Sonoma Goods for Life is one of Kohl’s several private, exclusive brands. It sells affordable, environmentally sustainable home goods and men's and women’s fashion.
