On Friday morning, news broke via Dave Meltzer that Dr. Britt Baker had been fined and suspended by AEW’s disciplinary commission following a backstage argument with MJF. Apparently, the incident occurred following the conclusion of Dynamite’s 250th episode after Baker said something negative about MJF in the women’s locker room, and Alicia Atout, who is dating the AEW American Champion, overheard.

And while some fans were shocked that Baker would be suspended, giving her star status in the company, others wondered why MJF wasn’t also fined and suspended. However, it has now been confirmed by Fightful Select that when the investigation was carried out, numerous witnesses sided with MJF, seemingly indicating Baker was solely to blame.

“We’ve asked why MJF was not also suspended and were told an investigation was conducted and numerous witnesses were interviewed and the suspension was decided on.”

33-year-old Baker only recently returned to AEW television, having been out since September 2023, appearing at Forbidden Door at the end of Mercedes Moné’s match, initiating a program between them. Subsequently, during the next episode of Dynamite, Baker disclosed the reason for her absence was due to her having suffered a minisstroke, which left her hospitalized for a week. This would, therefore, cement her as a babyface in the eyes of fans who admired the AEW original for making a comeback. However, how fans will feel about her now, given the reports of her backstage behavior, remains to be seen.
