The Jury Is Still Out on the New NFL Kickoff

We finally saw the new kickoff rules put into effect by the NFL during last night’s Hall of Fame preseason game and it’s still hard to know exactly what to think of it. On the one hand, it looks a little strange. But on the other hand, it’s better than a bunch of touchbacks. At least now we’ll be paying more attention to kickoffs than we have in recent years.

Doug Gottlieb: “Who knows? First game, we’ll see, kind of an interesting sort of look. I don’t know what to make of it. I do know though that it feels like we’ve replaced something that everyone stopped caring about for something now you kinda gotta watch.”
