Cillian Murphy 's new movie has debuted to rave reviews scoring an impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes .

The inspirational animation, Kensuke's Kingdom, is based on the book by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo and follows the story of a young fictionalised version of him as he embarks on an epic adventure at sea. Eleven-year-old Michael and his sister join their parents on board the Peggy Sue in the gripping tale.

The trip is full of heartwarming moments including the discovery that Michael has secretly brought his beloved sheepdog Stella on board. However, everything changes when Michael and Stella are thrown overboard into the Indian Ocean due to a terrifying storm that leaves them castaway on a mysterious island where a stranger appears to be attempting to care for them.

The kind hearted hero turns out to be World War II veteran Kensuke who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Michael and Stella as the stellar cast touches upon themes including history, loss and environmental issues . The animation features the vocal talents of Cillian alongside Paddington's Sally Hawkins and Godzilla's Ken Watanabe.

Frank Cottrell-Boyce wrote the screenplay, with Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry directing the family feature. Critics have hailed the movie as everything from "heartfelt" to "tender" to "beguiling" with it set to win over audiences of all ages based on the glowing reviews.

The release comes after it was announced that Dune and Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson has signed up to star alongside Cillian in Netflix ’s upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. No further details about her role have been confirmed but she is the first big name star to attach to the project.

it was confirmed in June that Netflix have given the go-ahead to the long-awaited movie which will see Cillian return as beloved Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby . The team behind the flick are keeping the details under wraps but Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight told Deadline in April that a movie story would be set during World War II.

Cillian himself teased the project telling Deadline:"It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn't finished with me. It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans."

Cillian's Peaky Blinders co-star Tom Hardy recently heaped praise on the actor during a chat with Joe.ie where he named his favourite Irish actors . He said: “There’s a lot of great Irish actors… and not so great. I’ve always been really fond of Colin Farrell , because he is a brilliant actor.”

He then gave an “obvious” shout to Cillian before admitting fans can hope to see his character Alfie Solomons return for the Peaky Blinders movie. He added: “One hundred per cent, Alfie will definitely make an appearance, but I don’t know when. And I don’t even know if he will, that’s just me punting.”
