Sha'Carri Richardson is the fastest woman in the world.

That's not an opinion, but fact. Richardson recorded the fastest 100m time of any women's runner thus far, clocking in with an impressive 10.71s finish at the U.S. Olympic trials back in June.

She was the fastest woman in the world last year, too, besting that mark by .06s to nab her first gold medal as a professional athlete in Budapest.

The 24-year old has been through hell to reach this point. Now, she idles near the mountaintop, ever so close to Olympic glory.

Her prowess across 100m is undeniable. But speed is unpredictable, especially over the course of 10 or so seconds. The Paris Games could very well represent a coronation of sorts for Richardson — whose absence from the Tokyo Games stunned millions.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Marie-Josee Talou-Smith and Daryll Neita won't make it easy. Given the prestige that Richardson has already garnered in her young career, you'd like to imagine she wouldn't have it any other way.

With that, The Sporting News has the updates on Richardson's performance throughout the 2024 Paris Olympics.

How many medals has Sha'Carri Richardson won?

Despite not being able to compete in the last iteration of the Summer Olympics, Richardson's cabinet is already filled with plenty of hardware.

The LSU product has two gold medals to her name, both of which came at the 2023 World Championships — one in the 100m, one in the 4x100m relay. She also nabbed a bronze medal in the 200m during that tournament, although she failed to qualify for the event at this year's Olympics.

Her scorching 10.65s time in last year's Worlds remains the joint-fastest 100m time in track over the past two seasons. And with the person she's level with — Jamaica's Shericka Jackson — opting against competing in the 100m, Richardson has as good a chance as anyone to end her trek to Paris with at least one glimmering gemstone wrapped around her neck.
