The Royal Family of Jordan has a lot to celebrate this weekend: Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa welcomed their first baby—and first grandchild of King Abdullah II—a baby girl named Princess Iman bint Hussein. The smitten new dad shared a beautiful video where he holds the swaddled princess and gazes down adoringly.

The proud new parents married last year in a lavish ceremony on June 1, 2023 at Zahran Palace in Amman. Among the star-studded guests in attendance were First Lady Jill Biden and Prince William and Kate Middleton . The bride wore a chic Elie Saab gown with an asymmetrical neckline for the ceremony, and changed into a cap-sleeve Dolce & Gabbana ballgown for the state banquet. The Princess's diamond tiara, designed by Yan Sicard from Fred Jewelry, however, stayed put all day.

In April of this year, the Royal Hashemite Court announced the newlyweds had another exciting update to share:

“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein are expecting their first baby this summer.

The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion, and wishes Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa good health and joy as they welcome their baby.”

Following the pregnancy announcement, Princess Rajwa's growing baby bump could be seen in photos from King Abdullah's Silver Jubilee earlier this summer as well as in a heartfelt birthday post from Queen Rania to her son. Most recently, the couple's official Instagram account shared photos of Princess Rajwa—donning a Max Mara dress in a rich caramel brown—on a visit to a Jordanian company, Digitales, that, according to the crown “[creates] impactful content on social issues and mental health.”

And now, the Royal Hashemite Court released a joyous update : “The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Their Royal Highnesses and to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this happy occasion.”

Congratulations to the Crown Prince and Princess!
