In these inflation-weary times we're living in, when even the price of fast food has skyrocketed , frugal consumers have turned to creative ways to stretch their dollars. As such, one enterprising social media user has revealed how to get an Olive Garden meal for less than the cost of a combo meal at most chains like McDonald's.

Earlier this month, TikTok user @xoxoluciee posted a 15-second video that detailed the ingenious hack. "Olive Garden kids meal, I ordered fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti as the side," she wrote. "Comes with breadsticks a drink, too. Only $6.99 for all this."

"Pro tip, add you a $6 take-home entree," she added, noting in the caption that "it’s the perfect portion to fill you up and you can eat the take-home entree the next day."

While the fettuccine and spaghetti were smaller portions, the premade five-cheese ziti entree she selected, complete with reheating instructions, appeared to have been a full-size adult portion. And although the second entree did not come with the chain's famous soup, salad, breadsticks; it's not a bad haul for $13 total, which most people could easily get two to three meals out of.

According to Olive Garden's website , kids meals are for children under the age of 12. However, if you're ordering online, ostensibly no one would be the wiser. In addition to the nearly dozen entrees to choose from, which include pizza, chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, and ravioli, among other options; the four sides offered are broccoli, French fries, grapes, and spaghetti with tomato sauce, which is what @xoxoluciee chose for her meal.

Likewise, diners can choose from three take-home options that can be added to any entree, adult or kid-sized, which includes five cheese ziti, fettuccine alfredo, and spaghetti with meat sauce.

All in all, not bad for under $20. And with grocery prices likewise hitting people hard in the wallets, it might even be cheaper than buying the ingredients to make at home. Saving both time and money? That's definitely a win.
