‘Running Scared’: Team Kamala Harris Puts ‘Mr. Anytime, Anywhere, Anyplace’ Trump On Blast Over Debate Ultimatum

Donald Trump decreed on his social media app overnight that he would not participate in the ABC News debate that was scheduled between him and former presumptive Democratic nominee President Joe Biden , but will debate new presumptive Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris if she agrees to his conditions, chief among them that it be hosted instead by Fox News. The Harris campaign responded on Saturday.

Late Friday night, Trump posted on his Truth Social app saying that he has “agreed” with Fox News to have a debate with Harris on September 4th.

“The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” Trump wrote .

On Saturday the Harris campaign put out a statement through a spokesperson, writing that Trump is “trying to back out” of the debate that was scheduled between him and Biden, but in which she did not agree to debate on Fox News.

“Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out,” said the Harris campaign. “He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10. The Vice President will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience.”

“We’re happy to discuss further debates after the one both campaigns have already agreed to,” it said. “Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th.”

At the time of this post Trump had not responded to the Harris campaign’s response challenging her to debate on Fox News rather than ABC News.
