Now is the time for peak summer eating. There's lemonade to make, watermelons to slice, zucchini to cook—and then there's peaches . August is prime time for the fuzzy fruit and we're excited to eat as many as we can before the season's over. And while you can make some peach tea , peach ice cream or peach cobbler , we just saw a viral peach recipe that immediately caught our eye.

Content creator @that40yearguy shared the easy baked peach recipe on his TikTok page and it looks too good to pass up! This is so simple and it can be made with items you usually have around the house. This one will have us running out to get more peaches ASAP!

The recipe includes peaches (cut in half and pitted) that have been placed in a baking dish, cut side up. You drizzle some olive oil over them and use a basting brush to spread the oil evenly over the peaches. Flip the peaches over, then bake them in an oven at 350° for 10 minutes.

While the peaches are baking, mix together some cinnamon, sugar, vanilla extract and softened butter. Take the peaches out of the oven and flip them over, so the hole left y the pit is facing up. You'll fill that hole with the butter mixture, then bake the peaches for another 10 minutes.

Once they're done, you can add a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream and dig in. This is a delicious, quick, easy dessert that really takes peaches to the next level. Baking the peaches concentrates their flavor and sweetness, so it's also a great way to make less-than-stellar fruit taste a lot better.

If you like this recipe, you can always give it an autumnal twist by adding nutmeg, pumpkin spice and brown sugar to the mixture, rather than just cinnamon and sugar. You can also serve the peaches with some gingerbread ice cream or pumpkin spice ice cream to give it that fall-approved flavor. If you want to skip the ice cream, drizzle the cooked peaches with maple syrup and top with some roasted pepitas.
