Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has proved many doubters wrong in her first WNBA season. Not only did she make the WNBA All-Star team, but she is closing in on the all-time WNBA assists record. It sure didn't take long for Clark to adjust to the WNBA after college.

Even former Duke Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski would agree. Coach K made a guest appearance on " The Herd " and discussed Clark's WNBA adjustment and cited her playmaking skills as her best basketball quality.

"One of the cool things about [Clark] is that she was at Iowa for a career," Krzyzewski said. "She became like a cult hero there. It was like an off-broadway thing, where she was accustomed to the crowds and whatever. And she handles it so well.

"She had like a ten-game adjustment in the WNBA, and now she's going crazy there. You know what she is? She's genuine... I think the best thing she does is pass. She's an amazing passer. And she sees things... and she makes teammates better."

Clark spent four years with the Iowa Hawkeyes. During that time, Clark won two Player of the Year awards and guided Iowa to two straight national championship appearances.

With 213 assists this season, Clark just needs 105 more to break Connecticut Suns star Alyssa Thomas' record of 316.

Through 26 games, Clark has led the Fever to an 11-15 record and is in a great position to make the WNBA playoffs. Clark is averaging 17.1 points and 5.8 rebounds. Her 8.2 assists leads the league by a wide margin.

The Fever will return from the Olympic break on Friday, August 16, against the Phoenix Mercury.
