Eligibility-row boxer Imane Khelif embraced her team as she secured a medal in Paris after a clouded experience at this years Olympics.

The Algerian boxer beat Anna Luca Hamori, advancing to the women’s welterweight semi-finals. (3 August)

Although cleared to compete in the Olympics despite last year’s International Boxing Association (IBA) disqualification, comments from figures like Donald Trump , J.K. Rowling , and Giorgia Meloni suggested, without evidence, that Khelif was a man or transgender.

Khelif is now guaranteed at least a bronze medal in Paris.
