Mark Henry’s Son Clarifies His Immediate Future Following WWE Signing Announcement

It recently became known that Mark Henry’s son would follow in his footsteps after the WWE Hall of Famer revealed during an interview that he was saving a bump for one of his matches. Therefore, it wasn’t a huge surprise when, on Thursday night, Jacob Henry announced he had signed with WWE. However, during a new interview with Busted Open’s Dave LaGreca , Jacob clarified that he will be staying at the University of Oklahoma for the time being.

“I’m not leaving the University of Oklahoma. I’m not dropping out of college. I am going to wrestle this season. We don’t know what my sports career is going ahead, and feel like I might play football and wrestle. I might play football, I might wrestle. I know for sure, though my main focus right now is wrestling at the University of Oklahoma and giving it everything I’ve got there. But I’m going to still be training professional wrestling wise.”

18-year-old Jacob Henry appears set to be a two-sport college athlete, with both amateur wrestling and football being his immediate priority. Additionally, as his father has previously stated, he wants Jacob to finish his education before pursuing a pro wrestling career, it seems anyone hoping to see his NXT debut anytime soon will be disappointed.
