Katie Ledecky made history at the Paris Olympics -- and in doing so brought a new round of attention to her rather private personal life.

The American swimmer took home gold in the women's 800m freestyle on August 3, completing a four-peat that began when she was just 15 years old at the London Olympics in 2012. Ledecky is now the first woman ever to win four straight gold medals in an individual Olympic event.

The win led to attention about the 27-year-old's dating life. Ledecky is not married and does not appear to be dating anyone, with her social media presence focused on her career and sponsorships.

That led many back to one of the few instances where Ledecky has discussed her dating life. Though Ledecky has often been reserved about relationships, she opened up in an August 2021 interview with Us Weekly and said that she didn't have time for a relationship -- though would like to start a family one day.

"[Dating] hasn’t been a focus of mine over the past several years. So at some point, I’d love to have a family in the future but, you know, the time will come," Ledecky said.

Ledecky has discussed some of her personal life, speaking about her book club and love of classic rock in a recently released memoir called "Just Add Water." Ledecky also shared some love for her friends and family in announcing the release of the book on Instagram .

"I’m so excited for you to read about my journey from my hometown pool to the Olympics, and grateful for all the love and support that got me here," Ledecky wrote.
