Tropical Storm Debby is located 130 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida.

On the forecast track, the center will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico through tonight and reach the Florida Big Bend coast Monday morning.

Debby is then expected to move slowly across northern Florida and southern Georgia Monday and Tuesday.

The storm is expected to stall somewhere over Georgia or South Carolina. There really won't be anything to move it out of here, so Debby will more than likely cause historic flooding for those states. Portions of southeast Georgia and South Carolina could see 10 to 20 inches of rainfall, with local amounts to 30 inches, through Friday morning.

As for us in North Carolina and Virginia, we are still a little ways out, but there's a good chance we will see a pretty good dose of rain. We are all aware that it doesn't take a whole lot of rain to cause flooding.

Even though there's still a lot of uncertainty, now is a good time to make sure you're prepared! We have several chances for showers and storms before Tropical Storm Debby heads our way. We should start to see some moisture from Debby by Thursday.

Dangerous rip currents will also be likely by the end of the week.
