    CM Punk Vs Drew McIntyre

Easily, this was the biggest grudge match and we all know Seth Rollins would play a major role. The match has been building since last November and we are nowhere near done with these three.

This was Punk’s first single televised match in WWE after a decade and there was some ring-rust. The wrestling from Drew McIntyre and Punk was noting special, but good storytelling from all involved.

I figured Rollins was gong to turn heel and go after CM Punk , although to no avail. After all the hype, I felt this was a weak match and the real-life disdain towards Punk was the best stuff. Grade: B

WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley Vs Nia Jax

By wining Queen of the Ring , Nia Jax earned the title shot against Bayley. Of all the matches at WWE SummerSlam 2024, this was the hardest to predict and I was wrong with my pick.

I do not like how Bayley kicked out of the first annihilator. Although, I was amazed at the power bomb from Bayley as she held Nia in the air for about seven seconds.

Tiffany Stratton and her slight distraction was all Nia needed to win the title. The extra two annihilators were not needed and now we wait for Tiffany to cash-in. Grade: B

Bloodline Rules Match For The Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes Vs Solo Sikoa

WWE SummerSlam 2024 closed with Cody Rhodes once again battling the The Bloodline . For starters, the crowd was absolutely silent for the first time all evening.

Overall, the match was nothing special as they really did not use weapons. We saw The Bloodline get involved, which we knew was happening, but Rhodes left champion.

Now, the biggest story is Roman Reigns returning. The Bloodline is going to have a civil war, with Reigns once again a face. Grade: B

Intercontinental Championship: Bron Breakker Vs Sami Zayn

When Sami Zayn ended Gunther’s longest Intercontinental Championship reign ever, I hoped he would hold the title for a long time; so, the title would stop jumping around. This was their second title match, with Sami barely surviving at Money in the Bank .

Sami was not as lucky at WWE SummerSlam 2024. Bron Breakker walked-away with his first main roster title and this is the start of something major.

Despite being a heel, the fans dug Breakker and that is tough to accomplish when Sami is on the opposite side of the ring. I can see Breaker being WWE Champion by next year’s SummerSlam. Grade: B

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan Vs Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley suffering an injury caused her to vacate the title and delay her program with Liv Morgan . In her absence, it was heavily teased that Dominik Mysterio would drop Rhea for Liv.

When Rhea’s shoulder was slammed into the corner, I am not sure if she was legit hurt. If so, what a tough woman to pop it back in and continue.

After Liv retained, I was glad WWE finally revealed Dominik and her as a couple. I wish the match was more physical because of the hatred, but that was the only flaw. Grade: B+

United States Championship: Logan Paul Vs LA Knight

Talk about a storyline that has been dragging for months. Finally, the two were back in the ring together and, of course, Logan Paul brought his entourage.

Like in the past, Logan continues to improve in ring by hitting moves and he is getting so much better each time. At the same time, LA Knight showcased some incredible talent.

I knew Machine Gun Kelly would play a major role in the end, but I thought he would turn on Logan. While it did not happen, I am glad LA Knight won as Logan only defended the title like three times since November of last year. Grade: B+

World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest Vs Gunther

Now, Damian Priest has not been a great World Heavyweight Champion and we all knew Gunther was taking the title at SummerSlam. It does matter who Gunther faced, as he was leaving the victor.

I really enjoyed the match and think it was the best performance by Priest since winning the gold. It was a physical bout, with plenty of of painful spots that made me cringe.

Gunther will be holding the top gold in WWE many times going forward. Finn Balor turning on Damian was rather obvious, and The Judgement Day has now imploded as they could be done. Grade: A
