Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with a bid being rejected for one of the current Liverpool stars who is currently sidelined with an injury.
Nineteen-year-old Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark has interest from a variety of European clubs heading into the new season. The Reds have rejected a $7.7m (£6.0m/€7.0m) bid from Pep Lijnders' RB Salzburg, according to the ECHO .
A loan move for Clark being sealed this summer has not been ruled out, however. As well as the Austrian side, Sheffield United, Coventry City, Celtic and Rangers have all expressed an interest in taking him on a temporary basis.
Clark is said to be open to a potential loan move but Slot is keen to assess him when he is over an injury that kept him out of the final few games of last season. Liverpool wants at least $15m (£12m/€14m) to sell him and would presumably include a buy-back and sell-on clause in any deal.
Liverpool.com says: Clark is hugely talented so a permanent exit would be a surprise. A loan, though, could be a great idea. The ex-Newcastle playmaker is ready for senior action every week and playing U21s soccer won't be that beneficial for him.
Teun Koopmeiners (Atalanta)
Liverpool will supposedly make a transfer bid for Juventus target Teun Koopmeiners in the next few days. That is according to Tutto Juve , which claims that the Reds have "knocked on the door" for the 26-year-old Atalanta ace.
It is stated, however, that Koopmeiners, who worked with Arne Slot at AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, would rather stay in Serie A than move to the Premier League . He is valued at around $60m (£47m/€55m) and a deal to move to Juventus seems near.
Liverpool.com says: While the Reds might be interested in signing a midfielder before the August 30 transfer deadline, it is much more likely to be a defensively-minded player that is targeted. Koopmeiners is very much more of an attacking profile.
