British tennis legend Andy Murray has officially retired from professional tennis following his defeat in the men’s doubles at Paris 2024.Murray and Team GB teammate Dan Evans lost 6-2, 6-4 to American third seeds Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul in the event’s quarterfinal."I'm proud of my career, my achievements and what I put into the sport. But I am genuinely happy just now. I'm happy with how it finished. I'm glad I got to go out here at the Olympics and finish on my terms because at times in the last few years that wasn't a certainty," said Andy Murray.The Scotsman was visibly emotional following the defeat at Roland Garros as the crowd chanted his name before he exited the stage for the final time.Murray had confirmed earlier in the year that the Paris Games would be his last tournament of his career, ending a 19-year professional career.
