Chef Lin Asian Buffet in Vero Beach was recently closed following a routine inspection on July 23, 2024. The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation found 10 violations, including two high-priority infractions.

What Happened: The Indian River County all-you-can-eat Chinese and Japanese buffet, known for its wide-ranging menu and seafood offerings, was requested to stop operations on July 23 until the violations were addressed.

However, the restaurant's management acted quickly, rectifying the issues within 24 hours, and the restaurant was allowed to reopen.

    Initially Inspection

During the initial inspection, inspectors uncovered notable conditions.

High-priority violations included wrong storage of raw animal foods and evidence of rodent activity, including "dropping found on canned good in dry storage room. Two droppings on cook line under hand wash sink."

Intermediate and basic violations ranged from wrong date marking of ready-to-eat foods to soiled surfaces and standing water in the kitchen.

Despite these setbacks, Chef Lin Asian Buffet demonstrated a commitment to improvement.

A follow-up inspection on July 24 revealed a turnaround, with only three violations found. The restaurant met inspection standards and was allowed to reopen, which will delight its loyal patrons.

While the recent closure may have inconvenienced diners, the quick resolution underpinned the effectiveness of health inspections in maintaining food quality and safety standards.

As Chef Lin Asian Buffet returns to serving its popular dishes, local diners can feel assured that their favorite buffet spot has addressed the concerns raised by health officials.

The Indian River County restaurant's 3.7-star rating from 1,685 Google reviews suggests it remains a relatively popular choice for Vero Beach, FL, residents and visitors.

That place should be condemned. Went once and saw roaches crawling across the buffet
