To the delight of fans, Roman Reigns returned to WWE television at the conclusion of Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa’s SummerSlam match and now looks set to feud with Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline. Yet, the big talking point coming out of the match was Jacob Fatu’s injury status after he apparently injured his leg while splashing Cody Rhodes off the top rope through a table. And while it appeared to be serious based on Fatu’s reaction and difficulty standing, Triple H has seemingly played down the injury during the post-show press conference , saying that his leg was “ bugging him a little bit.

“I have to mention Jacob Fatu because he’s like a force of nature, and it’s amazing to see him. Unfortunately, he got a little bit banged up on that in that last match. … Hopefully, nothing serious, but, it was bugging him a little bit. The leg. So, we’ll see where he is.”

32-year-old Fatu finished with MLW back in February, and it became known that he had signed with WWE shortly before WrestleMania due to his cancellation of bookings. Subsequently, he would debut for the company on the June 21 episode of SmackDown, taking out Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens, firmly establishing himself in the eyes of fans as a genuine threat. Therefore, nobody was surprised when he and Tama Tonga won the WWE Tag Team Championship’s the night before SummerSlam.
