Walmart Is Selling a 'Stunning' $40 Rainbow Checkered Rug Similar to a Sold-Out AllModern Style Almost 3x the Price

Rugs can really bring a room together, which is why it’s so important to choose the right one when furnishing your home. Do you want a neutral color or a darker vibe? Or do you decorate with a fun, vibrant rug that makes you happy whenever you walk in? If you’re looking for the latter, Walmart has the rug for you. Plus, it looks like a sold-out AllModern style that’s almost three times the price.

Walmart’s Mainstays Rainbow Checker Indoor Rug is definitely something to brighten up a room and your mood. It’s a rectangular rug with a small checkerboard pattern; white or cream color squares alternate between various rainbow colors. If you’re looking at the rug vertically, the colors go from a muted navy to a gray-blue, to yellow, then a muted rusted orange, to a muted pink, and finally to a brown. While those colors might not sound like they work together, they make a really aesthetically-pleasing colorful rug.

Mainstays Rainbow Checker Indoor Rug , 3'11" x 5'5", $39.98 at Walmart

The 3'11" x 5'5" size—currently $39.98—is the only size available on Walmart’s website right now (the three other sizes/shapes are sold out). While that’s not big enough to be a full area rug, it is a nice accent rug to put in the hallway, in front of a bed or a child’s playroom or nursery. The material is polypropylene and was made with a loomed technique. It has “stain and soil-resistant properties” and is “virtually non-shedding.” The pile height of the rug is 1.3 inches.

People seem to really love this rug, giving it a full five stars with 83 reviews and ratings. One person called it “stunning,” saying they “absolutely love this rug,” which they have in their entryway.

“The rug is soft to walk on and the fibers have held up well to vacuuming,” they wrote. “At first I wasn't sure on the colors but it makes it easy to go with several color schemes. It brightens up the whole area."

Another shopper wrote that it was soft and fluffy and a “lovely area rug.”

“The backing is nice, a stiff, almost weighty, to keep it in place on my floor,” they wrote. “I actually put it on top of my almond carpet to keep it neat. My son loves to play on it! It makes me smile when I look at it. It brightens up my family area."

As we mentioned before, this rug is nearly identical to AllModern’s Leonie Checkered Performance Cream/Orange/Yellow Rug , which was sold on Wayfair. While it’s sold out now, you can still access the listing which says the 5'3" x 7' size costs $116.99. Even though it’s larger than what is available at Walmart (they used to have the same size for almost half the price), the look is the exact same. From the colors of the rainbow checkered squares to the order those colors are in, it’s the same. It’s even made with a loom and from polypropylene material, too. The pile is 1.18 inches high, making it a little thinner.
