    MCSO: K9 Unit finds drugs after traffic stop, driver attempts to run

    MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said a man was arrested on drug charges after attempting to run from police following a traffic stop Friday.

    The MCSO said a deputy attempted to stop a car for a traffic stop. The driver of the car reportedly tried to flee from police before hitting a guardrail.

    Following the crash, deputies say the driver attempted to run and threw several items in the process.

    CCSO searching for ‘armed and dangerous’ shooting suspect

    MCSO said deputies arrested 30-year-old Jonathan Michael Bailey shortly after.

    The sheriff’s office called the K9 Unit to help search for what Bailey had tossed while running. K9 Deputy Gator found 31 grams of methamphetamine as well as other items.

    Bailey was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with two counts of drug trafficking dangerous drugs and attempting to run from the police.

    He was transported to the Morgan County Jail on a bond of $20,300.
