Navy football player finds out sister won Olympic gold while on pitch

Heartwarming footage shows the moment Thea LaFond ’s brother found out his sister made history for Dominica while on the pitch with the Navy Midshipmen football team.

The athlete secured gold in the women's triple jump final in the Caribbean island nation's first ever Olympic medal at Paris 2024 .

Chreign LaFond, a defensive end, was surrounded by staff and teammates as he was given the good news.

Draped in the flag of Dominica, which has a population of just over 70,000, Thea declared "This is for you guys" as she celebrated her success.
