    At just 10 years old,

started exploring a career in music when he learned to play the guitar thanks to his father. Add that to him learning to write music by 13 and it seemed that Moreland was destined to be an artist. And while he released numerous albums over the years, the singer recently made headlines when he took aim at the Turnpike Troubadours band after he got into a bar fight with Kyle Nix.

The incident took place on Friday morning at the Mercury Lounge in Tusla. According to reports, the fight happened after a performance from Jamie Lin Wilson. Talking at the bar, a source claimed that Moreland hit Nix. The fight broke out after the punches when Nix pulled Moreland from his barstool. The two swapped punches until they were pulled apart.

Although the fight was over, Moreland decided to jump on Instagram to share his disdain for Nix and the band. In now-deleted posts, the singer said in a video, “Hey guys, little Texas country fun fact. If you ever happen to get in a fight with Kyle Nix, the tiny fiddle player from the Turnpike Troubadours…uh, and he pulls you out of your bar stool and starts kicking you in the head a few times…Don’t worry because he’s four feet tall, and it’s just going to feel like a f***ing third-grader is kicking you in the head. And then you can get up and start wailing on his face, and it’s all good. F*** that guy.”

John Moreland Insisted “I Think He Sucks Now”

After sharing the video, he added the text, “F**k that whole band honestly.” He was sure to note, “Except Hank.” Seeming to take no issue with steel player Hank Early, Moreland eventually returned to Instagram to clear the air. “Ok, even though this is kind of hilarious, I’d like to say I regret bringing anybody else in the band into my issue. I was just angry and being an a**hole, I’m sorry to those guys. My problem is with Kyle only. And honestly, it’s not even that much of a ‘problem,’ we just got in a bar fight and I think he sucks now. I think that’s reasonable.”

As for the fight itself, no details have surfaced pertaining to what exactly caused the two stars to start swapping blows.
