There are fewer things cuter than a puppy, but when it's a Dachshund puppy, we're talking about next level adorable. They are so tiny, and yet they can still get around so fast on those little legs... not to mention the fact that they are so sweet and playful. Knowing how small they are, though, it's easy to understand why a new pet parent would be a bit nervous about introducing them to an adult dog, but sometimes, things just go right.
For example, the sweet pair in this TikTok video. Yes, the grown up dog in the video is another Dachshund, so still a rather small dog... but compared to the size of the puppy, her new big sister seems huge!
But despite their differences in size (and age), as we can see in this video from @hazel.bea.weenie on TikTok, these sweet pups hit it off right away.
These Dachshund dog parents caught the moment they introduced their new puppy, Heidi, to their older dog, Hazel, and seeing Heidi all curled up in her dad's arms really emphasizes just how small she is. But she still stayed totally chill as her big sis bounded over with so much excitement to sniff and check her out.
Before long, they were playing and running together, with baby Heidi getting brave enough to nip Hazel, as puppies do. These two are just too cute together!
In a comment, their proud mom wrote that it really was "true love" right away for these adorable sisters. "Her gentleness was so precious. She has been such a great big sister," their mom wrote of Hazel.
As far as introductions go, it seems like nobody could have possibly wished for this to go any better than it did!
More About Hazel & Heidi
When they first adopted Hazel in April, the family began sharing their adventures with their pup, especially when it came to her bond with Hazel.
Though they admitted in one video they were worried that Hazel might feel replaced, as we know now, that wasn't an issue — instead, Hazel got a built-in BFF!
Since then, they really have been inseparable, whether they're cuddling together during a car ride or chasing each other back and forth around the yard as they fight over who gets to play with the brand new toy Mom brought home. Truly, is there anything cuter than this?!
These two are so sweet, and I can't wait to see more of them together. They're so lucky to have each other!
