Being in the main event of WrestleMania is special and only a handful of wrestlers ever get such an experience. It is even more rare to see the same match take place twice at the show. Although, that is exactly what happened with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. Reigns retained his titles at WrestleMania 39 , only to drop the same belts to Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 . At SummerSlam, Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules Match after Reigns’ shocking return .
At the post-show conference , Rhodes addressed Reigns’ return and wanting to meet in a trilogy bout. “Roman Reigns held this title for so long that match it has to happen,” said Rhodes. “And, it’s one of those where, to a degree, it’s rather, you know, you’re not supposed to say this when you’re a babyface, but it’s rather scary the idea I’ve been in there twice with them, and brother hits hard. So, the idea of that is there to do. I don’t know if anyone saw, but I was tapping the title like this because I know there’s a third one somewhere down the line.”

One final meeting makes total sense, but not right now. Reigns is clearly going after Solo and the newest members of The Bloodline . I would look for The Usos to return soon to balance the odds. And, I imagine Paul Heyman will be beside Roman as well. As for Rhodes, it is not clear who is next. I feel a heel turn for Randy Orton coming as he chases the gold.
Whenever WWE does book Rhodes vs Reigns, it should not take place a WrestleMania. They closed both massive shows twice and there are plenty of other bouts to create. I think Reigns will be busy at Survivor Series , hence a Royal Rumble title match seems possible. As for who should win, both sides make great points.
