Even a gold medal isn't enough to earn Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon some comfortable sleeping quarters at the Paris Olympics.

A viral video showed Ceccon napping in a park outside the Olympic Village, where he had aired complaints about the conditions.

The 23-year-old swimmer took home gold in the men's 100m backstroke on July 29, finishing with a time of 52.00 seconds. Ceccon also won a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle earlier in the week.

Ceccon also earned some attention for his looks, with some viral attention when he accidentally showed off his abs during the medal ceremony for the 4x100m final. One viral post dubbed Ceccon the "hottest swimmer" at the Paris Olympics, and several other reports noted the way the internet swooned at his appearance.

Ceccon is now going viral again. A video posted on August 4 showed the Italian swimmer curled up beside a bench at a park in Paris, lying on a white sheet with his Olympic bag near his head.

Ceccon was apparently escaping the conditions inside the Olympic Village, where he complained about a lack of air conditioning.

"There is no air conditioning in the village, it's hot, the food is bad," Ceccon said earlier in the week. "Many athletes move for this reason: it's not an alibi or excuse, it's the reality of what perhaps not everyone knows."

Ceccon also added context to the viral video, saying he usually sleeps in the afternoon when he is at home but was struggling to find rest in the Olympic Village.
