There's something magical about watching a child growing up alongside their best fur friend. The lessons learned along the way are priceless. For Hudson the Golden Retriever, there's nothing better than spending time with his human toddler and teaching him the ways of the world.

In a late July TikTok video shared by Hudson Mason ( @hudsonbegood ), showing the little boy doing all the Golden things with his bestie and it's pure joy. Take a look at their unique bond!

"How we can tell our son is growing up to be 100% Golden Retriever," the clip begins. The toddler walks Hudson down a hallway before the screen cuts to the rules, beginning with him wearing "the cone of shame" while hanging out with the pup.

"1) No shame in the cone of shame," the video continues. Hudson is moral support, learning how to be a good sibling.

"2) Loves a good snuggle," the words flash, showing the two BFFs cuddling in multiple places.

And finally, "3) Knows the Golden Rule that sharing is caring." Hudson happily accepts any and all food scraps gifted to him by his person and it's too precious.

There are multiple videos of the two loving, and laughing as a duo, proving they're clearly brothers. This dog knows what he's doing and couldn't have a better friend to do life with.

"The world would be so much better if everyone was raised with golden retriever values!" one person commented, and they're not wrong! Growing up like Hudson doesn't look so bad.

Why Golden Retrievers Make the Best Family Dogs

Hudson isn't the only Golden who's great with kids. West Shore Animal Hospital says that Golden Retrievers are exceptional dogs for families with or without children for a few reasons, namely because of their temperament. They're known to be loyal, loving, affectionate, and great with children. The breed standard even notes their "cheerful demeanor," making them the perfect "brother" or "sister" for any kid.

It goes beyond just being happy dogs, too. Golden Retrievers are incredibly smart, obedient, friendly, and very patient, which is a great trait when you have children around. For these reasons—and because they never know a stranger—they don't make the best watch dogs, but that's okay! Their fun-loving spirit means they'll fit right in to just about any situation.

This little boy has the best teacher in Hudson who, we're sure, will have his back through thick and thin and every treat in-between!
